Updated:December 29, 2017

The National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) officially announced recently that Grouphorse Translations won the bid to provide interpreting and translation services at the first China International Import Expo(CIIE), meaning that the quality and standard of our language services has been recognized at an official level.

As an official provider of translation services for the United Nations and many other businesses and organizations, Grouphorse would provide high-level interpreting and translation services for the CIIE, to ensure it runs smoothly, bringing the voice of China to the world as our contribution to global trade, economy, and finance.

President Xi Jinping announces that the first CIIE will be launched in 2018.

Minister of Commerce Zhong Shan said in his article published in People’s Daily that hosting the Expo represents a major new decision by the CPC Central Committee to roll out a series of high-level “opening up” measures, reflecting China’s active efforts to further open up its market to the world.

The first CIIE will take place at the Shanghai National Exhibition and Convention Center from November 5-10, 2018, in cooperation with the World Trade Organization, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, and other international organizations. It will be hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, and organized by the China International Import Expo Bureau and the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). It will cover a total area of 240,000m2 and will consist of two parts: exhibitions for national trade and investment, and exhibitions for enterprises and commerce.

Hosting the CIIE is part of a major initiative by the central government to promote a new wave of opening up and investment to take effect within the Belt and Road framework. The aim of the event is to provide steady support for the Belt and Road Initiative and foster greater openness and sustainable development in our economy. Moreover, in the broader context of global economic development and economic globalization, hosting the Expo not only meets China’s own developmental needs, but also opens the opportunity for collective global development.
